Mrs. Alma Frances Brown King, age 96 of Memphis, Tennessee, formerly of Rutherford, passed away from this life on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Baptist Hospice in Collierville, TN. Funeral services for Mrs. King will be conducted Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at 12:00pm in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford with visitation at 10:00am. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery, in Rutherford, TN. Mrs. King was born September 29, 1921 in Kenton, TN; the daughter of the late Jessie Lee and Fannie Ophelia Warren Brown. Mrs. King was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, retired machine operator for Kellwood Company, beautician and long-time member of the Old Bethlehem Baptist Church Mrs. King is survived by her son, Jerry Lee King (Linda) of Olive Branch, MS; her daughter, Rita Kay King of Boulder City, Nevada; sister, Sue Galloway of Kenton, TN; two grandchildren, John Kevin King (Jena) of Flower Mound, TX, and James Matthew King (Karen) of Olive Branch, MS; four step grandchildren; seven great – grandchildren; and fifteen step great – grandchildren. She was preceded in death by loving husband of 66 years, James Marion King; her parents; her youngest sister, Mildred Byars; and brothers in law, Jay Galloway and Haskell Byars.
