Area Lee Kelsey

Mr. Area Lee Kelsey, age 80 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on February 22, 2024, at home. A Memorial service for Mr. Kelsey will be conducted on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 2PM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Lane Self officiating. 

He was born March 7, 1943, in Missouri; the son of the late Area Brooks & Freida (Iodia) Kelsey. He was a truckdriver and attended Dyer First Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his wife, Virginia Kelsey; children, Beth Crabtree, Kenny Thayre; stepchildren, James Michael Horner, Tony Randal Horner; siblings, Brooks Kelsey, Larry Kelsey, Sue Kelsey, Robin Lewis; grandchildren, Terry Kelsey, Amanda Clifford Zachary Clifford; step-grandchildren, Kacey Abbott, Areial King, Alyson Harris; great-grandchildren, Terry Kelsey, Kaylelynn Kelsey; step-great grandchildren, Kamilla Abbott, Jake Abbott, Taylor King, JW King, Nora King, Stetson Harris; and great-great granddaughter, Lilly Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Bill Kelsey, and Cecil Kelsey. 

The family will receive friends from 1PM-2PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Dyer chapel. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Area Lee Kelsey.
