Ava Mcfarland

Mrs. Ava Nell McFarland, age 86 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Milan General Hospital. Graveside services for Mrs. McFarland will be conducted on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00pm at Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. James Roberts officiating. Interment to follow afterwards. She was born April 3, 1931 in Dyer, TN; the daughter of the late Paul and Lela (Farris) Caton. She had worked at the pajama factory, and was co-owner of the Dyer Burger Bar, with her husband, Louis. She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Kaley, and Dorothy Perez (Joe); five grandchildren, Barbara Davis (Jeff), Michael Cook (Roxie), Christy Taylor, Lynn Poynor (Gidget), and Bobby Poynor (Jan); four great grandchildren, Amber Davis, Zach and Kaley Taylor, and Kimberly Cook; and five nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis McFarland; parents, Paul and Lela Caton; one brother, Tom Caton; and one daughter, Sandra Poynor. The family will receive friends from 12:00-1:45pm on Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
