Betty Gilliland

Mrs. Betty Jean Bawcum Gilliland, age 73 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on August 8, 2017, at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Funeral services for Mrs. Gilliland will be conducted on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church with Bro. Mark Earheart officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Betty was born April 5, 1944 in Decatur County, Tn., the daughter of the late Loyal and Ola Mae Woods Bawcum. Mrs. Betty was a retired employee of Kellwood Mfg. Company. She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Mrs. Betty is survived by her husband O.D. Gilliland; one daughter, Kim Mossner; one son, Jimmy Gilliland; four grandchildren, Sarah George, Laura McSorley, Jacob Gilliland, Stacey Young; two great grandchildren, Cash Young, and Ace Young; six sisters, Catherine McLain, Wilbur Gant, Barbara Mitchell, Shirley Bell, Kay Barron, Linda Taylor; and two brothers, Cletis Bawcum, Bobby Bawcum. Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at the Salem United Methodist Church.
