Betty Sue McClanahan

Mrs. Betty Sue McClanahan, aged 76, of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services for Mrs. McClanahan will be conducted on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Darrell Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Hornbeak Cemetery, Greenfield, TN.

Betty was born on December 12, 1948, in Madison County, TN, to the late John and Kate Sharpe Warren. She worked at the Sharon Garment Factory until its closure, after which she served as a dietician for nursing homes.

Mrs. McClanahan is survived by her four children: James Brandon “Skeeter” McClanahan Jr. (Donna), Ann Morgan (Darrell), Tim McClanahan (Nena), and Tracy Wright (Rodlin); eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; nine ‘bonus’ great-grandchildren; and brother, Johnny Warren (Sarah). She was preceded in death by her husband, James Brandon McClanahan Sr.; brothers, Jerry, Jessie, J.T., Bill; and sisters, Mamie, and Mary Lou Poe.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy, Tim, David, John, Shawn, and Braxton. Honorary pallbearer will be Johnny Mac Warren.

Visitation with family and friends will take place on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Betty Sue McClanahan.
