Billy Locher

Mr. Billy Charles Locher Sr., age 79 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, April 11, 2016, at the Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mr. Locher will be conducted on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer, Tennessee He was born August 17, 1936 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois; the son of the late Byford and Lucille Kennerly Locher. He retired from Brown Shoe Company as a Foreman/Quality Control after 37 years of service. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner. Mr. Locher served his country with the US Navy on the USS Cone. Mr. Locher is survived by his wife, Peggy Ann Locher and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Charles Locher, Jr. and his parents, and two sisters Jean Ann Grewe, and Kay Lukancic. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to New Hope Baptist Church or The Gideons. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer.
