February 27th, 1937 - December 10th, 2018 Billy Joe Roberts age 81 of Dyer , Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, December 10th, 2018, at Jackson Madison County Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be conducted on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Rutherford Chapel with Bro. Steve Skelton and Bro. Bryan Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Dyer, Tennessee. He was born February 27th, 1937 in Dyer , Tennessee; the son of Ted and Velma (Goad) Roberts. He was a telephone engineer at ITT in Milan for 30 years, also he attended New Hope Baptist Church, was co owner of Roberts Funeral Home in Rutherford, worked at King Technology in Trenton, TN, and owner of Roberts Fire Extinguisher. He is survived by his wife, Mara Nell Roberts; one daughter, Dianne Overall (Jim); five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Kenny Joe Roberts; and one brother, Carnell Roberts. Visitation for the Roberts family will be 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 11th, 2018 , at Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Rutherford Chapel.
