Bobby Gene Blankenship, 89, of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Dyer Nursing Home. His cremation arrangements are entrusted to Karnes & Son Funeral Home.

Bobby was born September 28, 1937, in Gibson, TN, to the late Hoyt and Lilly Mai Mcgee Blankenship. He served his country in the US Army, worked as a parts distributor at Goodyear until his retirement, and attended First Baptist Church of Rutherford.

Bobby leaves behind his daughter, Laurie White; two grandchildren, Matthew Hollis (Jodie) and Elizabeth Peay (Brian); four great-grandchildren, Kate Hollis, Jack Hollis, Sara Peay, and Emily Peay; and an honorary grandchild, Becky Marlow (Justin). He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Martha Katheryn Blankenship, and his son, Chad Blankenship.
