Brenda Joyce Campbell

Brenda left her earthly home on Saturday, December 25, 2021. She was born May 30, 1946, at the Jackson-Douglas Clinic in Dyer, TN. She is the first-born child of Virgil H. & Dorothy F. (McDermott) Cooper. A Graveside Memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Sunnyside Cemetery, Kenton, TN on the day of burial. She will be buried beside her son, and close to her parents, and her sister.

Brenda retired in 2008 due to health issues. She was diagnosed with a muscle disease in 2001 and fought it fiercely to the end.

She worked as a secretary/bookkeeper/agent in the insurance business for 16 years. She was a real estate secretary/bookkeeper for 2 years. She worked in the accounts payable office at Plastech in Kenton for 3 years and was the purchasing coordinator there for 2 years.  She was employed by the Gibson County Special School District for 17 years as a school bus driver, and 3 of those years, as a substitute high school teacher.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Kenton for over 50 years.

She is survived by one brother, Clayburn D. Cooper (Ann); two sisters, Shirley D. Johnson (Jackie), Barbara J. Rainey (Jimmy); two daughters, Tammye J. Francis, and Hollye R. Jerrell (Barry); one son, John L. Campbell (Heather); six grandchildren, Jessica J. Laporte (Max), Aja J. Francis, Brennan S. Hurst (Sierra), Kailey M. Campbell, Olivia R. Campbell, and Cason H. Campbell; and two great-grandchildren, Gregory B. Hurst and Braylee S. Hurst.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Doris June Sims; and her son, James Gregory Campbell.

Serving as pallbearers were her son, John Campbell; her grandson, Brennan Hurst; her brother, Clay Cooper; her nephews, Casey Hugueley, Joshua Rainey, and Gregory Trent Sims.
