Carolyn Louise Nickelsen

Mrs. Carolyn Louise Nickelsen, age 85 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at her home. Cremation services for Mrs. Nickelsen are under the direction of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. She will be buried at New Bethlehem Cemetery.

Carolyn was born May 26, 1941; the daughter of the late Hershel & Nina Turner Bates. She worked at Crestview Nursing Home in Brownsville as an Administrator before her retirement.

She is survived by two children, Teresa Whiteside, Pat Garrett; sister, Linda Hatchett; three grandchildren, Zach Whiteside, Richard Garrett, David Garrett; and five great-grandchildren, Molly Garrett, Adeline Garrett, Josephine Garrett, Levi Garrett, and Zackery Garrett. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Nickelsen; her parents; brother, Kenneth Bates; and sisters, Betty Morris, and Mary Morris.
