Della Mae Carson

Mrs. Della Mae Carson, age 84 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Monday, December 6, 2021, at home. Funeral services for Mrs. Carson will be conducted on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at 11:00 am in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Barry England officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

She was born November 22, 1937, in Gibson County; the daughter of the late Paul & Mary Frances White Pierce.  She retired from Brown Shoe Company and was a member of Dyer Church of Christ.  She married Mr. James Carson, the love of her life.  They were married for 67 years.  She loved tinkering around on the organ and loved cats.  She was known for her fried squirrel, squirrel gravy & biscuits, but…. ANYTHING dessert wise was BEST!

She is survived by her loving husband, James Earl Carson; two children, Rickie Carson (Debbie), Jeffrey Carson (Teresa) both of Dyer; four grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by son, Michael Craig Carson (2006); parents; and sister, Mary Northam.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Della Mae Carson.
