Demetra Garner

Mrs. Demetra Sue Garner, age 81 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Jackson Madison Co. General Hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Garner will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, Tennessee, with Bro. John Coleman and Matt Stewart officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer, Tennessee. Visitation for Mrs. Garner will be held on Monday, April 12, 2021 in the Dyer chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 pm.

Mrs. Demetra Sue Garner was born November 29, 1939 in Dyer, Tennessee, to the late Clifton and Mary Louise Watson Grissom.  She was a retired employee of Kellwood Company, along with being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Garner is survived by her sons, Mike Garner (Tracy) and Brad Garner; three grandchildren, Britney Garner Stewart (Matt), Ryan Garner (Kaylie), and Kennedy Garner Yergin (Derek); two great-grandchildren, Huntley Jane Yergin, and Houston Yergin; and one sister, Louise Flowers.  Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Garner, and her parents.
