Doris Jones

Mrs. Doris Faye Washburn Jones, age 70 of Dresden, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at home. Funeral services for Mrs. Jones will be conducted on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00pm at Dresden Pentecostal Church with Bro. Darrell Pollock officiating, and Bro. Paul Cagle assisting. Interment will follow in Eastview Cemetery, Union City, Tn. She was born June 5, 1946 in Obion County; the daughter of the late Louis James and Agnes Marie Edmaiston Washburn. She worked at the University of Tennessee in Martin, and was a member of Dresden Pentecostal Church. She is survived by her children, Kimberly Thayer, and Shane McMinn; siblings, Jimmy Washburn (Shirley), Helen Winston (Larry), David Washburn (Sherry), and Connie Klutts (James); sister-in-law, Brenda Washburn; and five grandchildren, Brittanie Lewis, Ashley Thayer, Cole McMinn, Courtney McMinn, and Abriah Branson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Jones; parents, Louis James and Agnes Marie Washburn; and siblings, Rosie Hamm, Velda Garner, Norman Washburn, Delbert Washburn, Bill Washburn, and Bunkie Washburn. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm, Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Dresden Pentecostal Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Doris Faye Washburn Jones.
