Doris Richards

Mrs. Doris Richards, age 86, of  Dyer, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at home with her family around her. Funeral service for Mrs. Richards will held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer, burial will follow in Griers Chapel Cemetery near Dyer, Bro. Brent Porterfield will be officiating.

Mrs. Doris Richards was born October 10, 1939 to the late Thurman and Elizabeth Steel Bass. Mrs. Doris was a retired Dispatcher for Ford Construction Company, along with being a former Brown Shoe Company employee. Mrs. Doris was a member of the Griers Chapel Methodist Church.

Mrs. Doris is survived by her husband of seventy two years, James Richards, a daughter Debra Gammons, grandson, Stan Clark and wife Kimberly, great grandchildren, Blake Clark and wife Bailei, and Cadie Gordon and husband Joseph, and two great great grandchildren, Rilah Mae Clark and Ryder Brook Gordon, one sister, Pat Mabry, and three nieces, Carolyn, Vicky and Sue. Mrs. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Edna Hall, and grandson, Jeremy Dale "JD" Gammons.
