Dula Mae Tharp

Mrs. Dula Mae Tharp, age 96 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Dyer Nursing Home. Graveside services for Mrs. Tharp will be conducted on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at 2PM at Poplar Grove Cemetery with Bro. Ray Carroll officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

She was born June 25, 1929, in McNairy County, TN; the daughter of the late Frank Pierce & Mary Ethel White Barney. She worked at Brown Shoe Company before her retirement and was of the Church of Christ faith.

Mrs. Tharp is survived by three grandchildren, Timothy ‘Timmy’ Young, Eddie Watkins (Jayna), Deana Hall (Greg); eight great-grandchildren, Dalton ‘Doc’ Young, Andrea ‘Aunnie’ Moore, Leslie Wallsmith, Eric Young, Mason Wyrick, Garrison Wyrick, Ashley Young, Travis Watkins; ten great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Garrett Shanklin; husband, Clyde Tharp; daughter, Patsy Young; stepdaughter, Peggy Watkins; three grandsons, William Young, Robert Young, Brad Overall; and two sisters.
