Ellen Coaline Freeman

Ellen Freeman, age 83 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.  A Private Family Funeral will be conducted on May 31, 2022, at Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Rutherford, Tennessee.

She was born on April 9, 1939, in Missouri; the daughter of the late Fred and Verna Golden.  She worked as a private caregiver for many years, taking care of patients in her home.  She loved to be with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She lived at Willow Oaks for 16 years and enjoyed special friendships there.  She enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals.

She was a born-again Christian and enjoyed singing and hearing Gospel singing.

She is survived by her daughters, Sue Hicks (David), Jeanie Hays (Joey); grandchildren, Jeffery Hays, (Paige), Tim Hicks (Nichole), Michael Hicks (Lia), Jenna Simpson (Blake); four great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Tripp, Greer, and Mattie; and dear nephews and nieces.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Gene Golden, James “Dub” Golden; and sister, Bernedia Edmonds.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
