Elvie Hendricks

Mrs. Elvie Katherine Woods Hendricks, age 94 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on April 8, 2017, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral service for Mrs. Hendricks will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Dyer, Tennessee. Mrs. Hendricks was born December 9, 1922 in Perry Co., Tennessee; the daughter of the late Newt and Mary Prater Woods. Mrs. Hendricks was a loving mother, housewife and homemaker, and member of the Dyer First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hendricks is survived by three children, Judith Hendricks, Dennis Hendricks, and Deborah Yarbrough; two son in laws, James Sims and Richard Yarbrough; three grandchildren, Jana Sims, Jennifer Yarbrough, Karen Yarbrough; grandson in law, John Blackwell; three great grandchildren, Krystal Myers, Drew Myers, and Marley Myers; and one sister, Mary Evelyn Potter. Mrs. Hendricks was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Hendricks; one daughter, Jacqueline Sims; her parents; five brothers, Jessie Woods, Roy Woods, Otis Woods, Bobby Woods, Charles Woods; and one sister Ollie Webb. Visitation for Mrs. Hendricks will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer.
