Emily Woods

Mrs. Emily Ann Woods age 82 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her home with her loving family around her.  A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Kenton with Kevin Ray officiating.

Mrs. Woods was born April 7, 1937 in Bells, Tennessee; to the late Doyle and Jessie Blackburn White. Mrs. Woods was a retired employee of Brown Shoe Company with over 40 years of service; along with being a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Mrs. Woods was a faithful member of the Kenton Church of Christ, where she enjoyed serving her church and preparing the Lords Supper. Mrs. Woods loved her rose bushes; spending time with her family; most importantly watching her grandchildren at whatever activity they were in; shopping with her sister; and enjoying her faithful canine companion of 16 years, " Little Bit", who followed her every step.

Mrs. Woods is survived by two daughters, Jana Ray and husband Kevin, Darlene Horton and husband Michael; four grandchildren, Meagan Gonzales and husband Matthew, Lance Ray and wife Kathrine, Skyler Bowlin and wife Camilla, and Lydia Taylor and husband Robert; five great-grandchildren, Tanner Taylor, Callie Ray, Katey Taylor, McKenzie Gonzales, and Luka Bowlin; one sister, Bettye Barton; and canine companion, "Little Bit".  She was preceded in death by her husband Dairl Woods; and her parents.

Mrs. Woods family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, 2019 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Kenton.
