Gary Sweatt

Mr. Gary Lynn Sweatt, age 56 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services for Mr. Sweatt will be conducted on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 12:00pm in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Hanks officiating. Interment will follow in Alamo Baptist Church Cemetery, in Sharon, TN. He was born September 26, 1960 in Greenfield, TN; the son of the late Thomas Charles Sweatt & Lona Mai (Gant) Sweatt Norton. He was general worker for Replogle, and a farm worker for Mark & Lynn Harris, also a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He is survived by his Special Parents, Johnny and Etta Davis; children, Mathew Sweatt, and Gary Lynn Sweatt Jr.; his mother, Lona Mai Norton (Jimmy); siblings, Tommy Sweatt, Dale Sweatt, Steve Sweatt, Ray Sweatt, Albert Sweatt, Jerry Sweatt, Terry Sweatt, Vicki Pinkin, and Trena Harris; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings, Robert Sweatt, Kathy Gamblin, and Danny Sweatt. The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00pm on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
