Georgia Alexander

Mrs. Georgia Ruth Flowers Alexander, age 89 of Tiptonville, Tennessee, formerly of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on July 24, 2015, with her family around her. Funeral services for Mrs. Alexander will be conducted on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer, with Bro. Paul Adams officiating. Interment will follow in Davidson Chapel Cemetery in Trenton. Mrs. Alexander was born March 18, 1926 in Dyer, Tennessee; the daughter of the late Clyde Hillary and Cly Clark Flowers. She was a loving mother, housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Cottonwood Baptist Church, avid quilter, and member of the Dyer Golden Seniors at First Baptist Church, and former member of the Davidson Chapel Home Demonstration Club, Mrs. Alexander is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thad Aaron Alexander, two brothers Jearold Flowers, Harold Flowers, one sister, Ruby Loynes, and son in law Douglas Schuff, one grandson Kevin Corpier. Mrs. Alexander is survived by two daughters, Barbara Schuff of Tiptonville, and Cathy Hubble and husband Jerry of Dyer, four sons, James Wade Alexander of Humboldt, Larry Alexander and wife Ruby of Dyer, Van Alexander and wife Gail of Trenton, Michael Alexander of Trenton, sixteen grandchildren, James Mills, Suzanne Behn, Jamie Burpo, David Alexander, Kevin Hubble, Brian Alexander, Jason Mills, Deborah Alexander, Frankie Alexander, Kelly Alexander, Sherry Clark, Van ”Bubba” Alexander, Courtney Alexander, Katie Choate, Michael Parker, David Corpier, and a host of great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. Two sisters, Elizabeth McKnight of Dyer, Martha Watkins of Granite City, Illinois, one brother Robert Flowers of Wilmington, Illinois, two sister in laws Eleanor Flowers of Dyer, Edith Flowers of Paris, and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 8 on Sunday, July 26, 2015, in the Chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Georgia Ruth Flowers Alexander.
