Harry Eugene Mathenia

Harry Eugene Mathenia, age 83 of Trenton, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Graveside services for Mr. Mathenia will be conducted on Friday, December 26, 2025, at 2PM in Davidson Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Bro. Travis Hendrix officiating. Interment will immediately follow.

Harry was born November 8, 1942, in Trenton, TN; son of the late Clarence & Opal McComb Mathenia. He retired from Brownshoe after their closing, and currently was farming. Mr. Mathenia was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Mr. Mathenia is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Mathenia; four children, Greg Mathenia (Paula), Amanda Mathenia, Amy Hickerson, Robert Tucker (Kristy); sister, Louise Watson; brother, David Mathenia; four grandchildren, Jake Mathenia, Kayla Motes (Brannon), Sydney Stewart (Aaron), Hayley Byrd (Brad); and four great-grandchildren, Mary Clare Motes, Bodie & Owen Stewart, and Taylor Byrd.

He was preceded in death by parents, Clarence & Opal Mathenia; and nine siblings, Marion “Pete” Mathenia, May Fern Graves, Rebecca Laverne White, Mary Marie Hatchett, John Robertson Mathenia, Carolyn Jean Kyle, Larry Russell Mathenia, Sarah Anne Bennett, and Clarence Ray Mathenia.
