Hazel Montgomery

Hazel R. Montgomery, 97, of Summerville, SC, widow of H.R. Montgomery and widow of William L. Moore, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018 at The Village at Summerville. Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation and funeral service on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 6 to 8 o’clock at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, SC. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home, with burial in Rutherford Cemetary. Mrs. Montgomery was born August 14, 1920, in Kenton, TN, daughter of the late Reece Bledsoe and Dovie Mae Carr Bledsoe. She was a long time bookkeeper for John Deere. She enjoyed life, her friends and most of all her family. She was very excited about her great great granddaughter Madeline Hazel. She loved God and her church. Flowers will accepted or memorials may be made to Gideon’s Bible Society, 277 School Street, Ridgeville, SC 29472 or Victory Fellowship Church-Summerville, 131 Lancashier Road, Summerville, SC 29486. Survivors include two daughters: Patricia Park (Ray) Aurora, CO and Betty Griggs (Lemuel) Summerville; six grandchildren: Sherry Moore (Ed) of Aurora, CO, Nick Barkley of Moncks Corner, SC, Audra Hansen (Travis) of Norfolk, VA, David Moore, Daniel Moore (Lisa) of Flagstaff, AZ and James Moore; twelve great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by one son: Bobby Moore and one granddaughter: Deborah Park. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Hazel R. Montgomery.
