Helen Sanderson

April 26, 1919 — November 6, 2016

Helen Lane Sanderson, age 97, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Milan National Health Care Corporation after a brief illness. The late Charles W. Sanderson, her husband of 51 years, preceded her in death in 1991. Helen was a native of Greenville, MS, but had made her home in Kenton, TN since 1950. Her parents were Richard Patrick Lane and Ella Schmidt Lane of Greenville MS. Helen was the last surviving of her four siblings. She was a faithful member of Kenton United Methodist church. She lived an active healthy life, enjoying her friends, flower gardening and reading. She was an avid sports fan. Funeral services for Mrs. Sanderson will be conducted on Wednesday, November 9th, at 2:00p.m. at the Kenton United Methodist Church, in Kenton. Helen was a devoted homemaker, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She leaves her four children – Billy (Connie) Sanderson of Parkers Crossroads, TN; Judy (Jim) Perrin of Enville, TN; Janet (Jimmy) West of Dyer, TN; and Greg (Martha) Sanderson of Marietta, GA. She leaves behind ten grandchildren – Bill (Marjie) Sanderson of Kenton; Jeff (Susanne) Sanderson of Kenton; Suzie (Rick) Whitehead of Memphis; Dwayne Bryant of Memphis, DeLinda Jiles of Acworth, GA; James (Courtney) Perrin of Nashville; Becky (Chip) Ditto of Newbern; Beth (Daniel) Tillman of Friendship; Helen (Hunter) Mitchell of Atlanta, GA; and Lane Sanderson of Redlands, CA; fifteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. The family will receive friends for 11:00am-2:00pm on Wednesday, November 9, at the Kenton United Methodist Church. Grandson's will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the First United Methodist Church in Kenton. Karnes and Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Helen Lane Sanderson.
