Hollis Allen Hanks

Mr. Hollis Hanks, age 88 of Yorkville, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Funeral services for Mr. Hanks will be conducted on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at the Yorkville Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Bro. Travis Davison officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery in Yorkville, Tennessee.

He was born March 9, 1933, in Yorkville, Tennessee; the son of the late Howard and Vadie Hanks. He retired from Brown Shoe Company after 30 years of service. Mr. Hanks served his country with the US Army. He was a member of the Yorkville Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Hanks is survived by his wife, Carolyn Hanks; two sons, David Hanks, and Ricky Hanks (Judy); three grandchildren, Dr. Karen Hanks, Jennifer Jennings (Jason), and Becky Cobb (Zeb); five great-grandchildren, Lynleigh Cobb, Colt Cobb, Laney Jo Cobb, Nolan Jennings, and Beau Hollis Jennings; and extended family Andy and Cindy Johnson and family; Corbin and Carrie Johnson and family; Brooke Jennings Cary, and Bryleigh Snead. He was preceded in death by brother, Wayne Hanks; sister, Edith Mae Bradford; daughter-in-law, Judy Hanks, and his parents.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm on Monday, September 20, 2021, at the Yorkville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Hollis Allen Hanks.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Yorkville Cemetey.
