Jack Siler

Mr. Jack Wayne Siler, 84, of Kenton, TN, passed away from this life at Van Ayer Manor & Rehab on January 20, 2017. Jack was born Saturday, April 23, 1932, to Lacey Curtis Siler and Mary Hargett Siler in Obion County, Tennessee. Jack grew up in Mason Hall and Kenton, TN. He graduated from Kenton High School and served in the United States Army before beginning his career with the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Jack was a gentle, humble man who loved his family and friends. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, hunting, gardening and all things to do with the outdoors and nature. He was a Christian and a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, first in Mason Hall and then in Kenton, Tennessee. In 1956, he became a Mason and served the local organization for sixty years in various capacities. He was also a member of the Lion’s Club. Mr. Siler was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Joye McCleish Siler; five brothers; and four sisters. He is survived by his daughter Kathy Eskew and husband, Tommy of Martin, TN; his son, Bill Siler and wife, Susan of Bartlett, TN; one sister, Linda Siler Winchester; five grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. On Sunday, January 22, 2017 the family will receive friends from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Kenton United Methodist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Siler will be at 3:00pm with Bro. John Varden officiating, assisted by Bro. Bill Simms and Bro. Tom Winchester. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Kenton, Tennessee.
