July 17th, 1934 - April 29th, 2019 Funeral services for Jacquelyn Akin Stover, 84, of Dyer will be held Thursday, May 2, at 10:30 a.m., at The First United Methodist Church in Dyer. Brother Randy Mutter will be officiating. Burial will follow at Elbridge Cemetery in Obion County. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, from 5 until 8 p.m., at Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer. Jackie passed away on April 29, at Dyer Nursing Home. Jackie was born on July 17, 1934, at her family home in Tatumville. She graduated as valedictorian from Dyersburg High School in 1952. Jackie worked in banking for many years and was currently the CEO and Chairman of the Board at The Farmers & Merchants Bank in Dyer. She was an active member of The First United Methodist Church in Dyer. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Jackie enjoyed researching her family ancestry, playing bridge with friends, and playing golf with her husband, Bill. Jackie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved deeply and generously. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Matt Stover, parents R.J. and Genevieve Akin, brother, Billy Neil Akin, and son-in-law William Joyner. She is survived by her daughters, Kalista Carroll (Jon) of Dyer, and Terrie Joyner of Trenton; granddaughters Julie Joyner Hager (Ben) of Trenton, and Kellie Joyner Ashburn (Mack) of Rives; three great-grandchildren, Carley and Allie Hager and William “Wills” Ashburn, a sister-in-law, Peggy Lamanna (Joe) of Concord, CA, and a nephew, Joey Lamanna of Elbridge, TN, and her caregivers for many months, Percilla Anthony and Ca’Mera Bonds. Serving as pall bearers will be the Directors and Employees of The Farmers & Merchants Bank, Joel Reynolds, Joe Elliott, Norman Robinson, Eric Partee, Bob McCurdy, and Louis Turner. Honorary pall bearers will be David Orr and Mark Miller. The family requests that memorials be made to The First United Methodist Church in Dyer, TN and to St. Jude Research Hospital in Memphis.
