James Ervin Schoolfield

James Ervin Schoolfield, age 85 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at home. Funeral services for Mr. Schoolfield will be conducted on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of New Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Darrell Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, in Mason Hall.

He was born September 16, 1936, in Milligan Ridge, Arkansas; the son of the late Frank & Jessie Hood Schoolfield. He worked as a field service technician at Park Vending until his retirement and was a member of New Salem Baptist Church.

He is survived by two children, James E. “Jim” (Marjie) Schoolfield, Sheri (Paul Higgs) Widman; two brothers, John Schoolfield, Michael Schoolfield; grandchildren, Jason, Shannon, Matt, Candy, Jim, Kate, Hollie; and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by loving wife, Thelma Mae Schoolfield; daughter, Delane Trunk; grandson, Ervin Schoolfield; and great granddaughter, Ember Spicer.

Visitation with family will be from 10:00am – 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at New Salem Baptist Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. James Ervin Schoolfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials or donations be made to: New Salem Baptist Church in Kenton, or Le Bonheur Children's  Hospital in Memphis.
