Jewell Faye Dabbs

Jewell Faye Dabbs, maker of pancakes, chocolate gravy, sweet tea, and cornbread dressing, lover of steak, cigarettes, and country music, wielder of switches, electric paddles, and the best hugs and "sugar" in the world, passed away unexpectedly the evening of April 26th, at 86 years old. She was a woman of many talents: cooking, sewing, telling great stories, etc. Her most impressive talent, however, was making everyone feel incredibly loved. When Jewell focused her attention on you, she made you feel like the most important person in the room. Her kindness and sweetness were unmatched. Everyone who knew her, loved her, and could always count on her for "a hug around the neck" if they needed one.

Heaven truly gained an angel when she arrived, and we know she was welcomed there by her mom and dad, W.R. and Jessie Hicks, siblings Ruby, Paul, and Joe, and her beloved son, Tony. She leaves behind 8 brothers and sisters, her three daughters, Janice, Linda, and Donna, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Jewell was, is, and will forever be loved and missed.

Farewell for now, Grandma Jewell, until we are all reunited and get to see your beautiful face again. Hope you finally get to meet George Jones.

Services for Jewell Dabbs will be held at Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Kenton, TN, on Friday, April 30, 2021. Visitation hours will be from 11-2 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with the burial following at Sunnyside Cemetery in Kenton, Tn. Pallbearers are Jacob Moellman, Nicklaus Duncan, Jeremy Duncan, Brandon Cannon, Chris Cannon and Josh Hopper.  Honorary pallbearers are Dylan Moellman, Nick Duncan, Jace Cannon, Bentley Cannon, Easton Hopper, Jaxx Hopper and Joe Box.
