"Jo Momma" Reed

Mrs. Annie Jo “Jo Momma” Reed, age 85 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at home. Funeral services for Mrs. Reed will be conducted on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at 3:30 pm in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Little Prairie Cemetery, in Caruthersville, MO.

She was born December 31, 1934 in Hornsby, TN; the daughter of the late Dee & Virgie Dunnahoe.  She was a factory worker at Brown Shoe, then working as a dietician at Trenton Healthcare & Rehab before retiring at 75 years old.  “Jo Momma” was proud to call herself a 5th generation matriarch.

She is survived by one son, Dale King; eleven grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Fred Flippo; siblings, Mary Lee, William D., Bessie L., Robert T., Doris M., Peggy J., Lila F., Willie D., Georgia B., Franklin D.,  and Forest W. Dunnahoe; two daughters, Virgie Warren, Nancy Wilbanks; two grandsons, Stephen Duane King, Paul David King; and one great-great grandson, David Allen Guess.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Annie Jo “Jo Momma” Reed.
