John Reed

October 11th, 1941 - November 24th, 2018 Mr. Johnny Reed, age 77 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, November 24th, 2018, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral Service for Mr. Reed will be conducted on Monday, November 26th, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Kenton Chapel with Bro. Andy Rice officiating. Interment will follow in North Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Kenton, Tennessee. Mr. Reed was born October 11th, 1941 in Kenton, Tennessee; the son of Elzie Reed and Florine Elkins Reed. He was a Factory Worker at Brown Shoe Company. He served his country with the US Army. He was a member of Morella Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by daughter, Carla Yergin (Barry); son, Jimmy "Bubba" Reed (Jennifer); brother, Jim Lee Reed; four grandchildren, Derek Yergin (Kennedy), Austin Yergin (Macie), Hunter Reed and Kenton Reed; and one great-grandchild, Avi Yergin. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Reed, his parents and George Tharpe. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Monday, November 26th, 2018, at Karnes & Son Funeral Home - Kenton Chapel.
