Jose Acurio

Jose Ricardo Acurio Calero, 73, peacefully passed away April 28, 2019. He was born October 23, 1945 in Quito Ecuador. Ricardo was a beloved husband and best friend to his one and only true love for more than 47 years, Pompeya Vaca Acurio. Devoted father of Paulina Acurio, Diego X. Espin (son in law) and Fatima Acurio. Doting, fun and loving grandfather of Diego Ricardo Espin Acurio(22), Nicolas A. Espin Acurio (13) and Leonardo D. Gonzalez Acurio (11).

Ricardo was a very hard worker and he was busy all the time. He moved to Queens, New York with his family in 1993 and to Charlotte in 2004. He was an entrepreneur, opened Ricky’s Auto Glass, and named his business after his first and always loved grandson Ricky. His caring, generous, and joyful personality has impacted and taught us that we have to live, love and laugh. He will never be forgotten and will continue to live in our hearts until we meet again. In lieu of flowers, please give a gift to a homeless person in his honor.
