Larry Eugene 'Gene' Skinner

Mr. Larry Eugene ‘Gene’ Skinner, age 69 of Rutherford, Tennessee, entered his Eternal Heavenly home Wednesday, April 3, 2024. Funeral services for Mr. Skinner will be conducted on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 2PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Ken Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Rutherford Cemetery. 

Gene was born January 15, 1955, in Union City, TN; the son of the late Buster & Viola (Eddings) Skinner. He was an avid Ham radio operator & dispatcher; loving husband, father, and grandfather; all the while, working at the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department, after his retirement after 34 years of service with the Gibson County Gas Company. 

Cherishing Genes memory, he leaves behind his loving wife, Edna Skinner; son, Bradley Skinner and wife, Kristin; sister, Betty Smithson and husband, Buddy; and two grandchildren, Rhet Skinner, and Falyn Skinner. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Skinner; and sister, Carolyn Horner. 

The family will receive friends from 11AM until time of service, Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Larry Eugene ‘Gene’ Skinner.
