Leon Tosh

Leon John Tosh, age 87 of Rutherford, Tennessee, quietly slipped away from this life on August 27, 2016 at his home with his loving family around him. Funeral services for Mr. Tosh will be conducted on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Salem United Methodist Church with Bro. Dave Chaffin officiating. Interment will follow in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Rutherford, Tennessee. Mr. Tosh was born January 11, 1929 in Rutherford, Tennessee, the son of the late Martin and Florence Simmons Tosh. Mr. Tosh was a retired Farmer and Land Owner, and worked for the Gibson County Highway Department. He was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church. Mr. Tosh was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Lela Mai Tosh, and four brothers, Vernon Tosh, Russell Tosh, James Tosh, Coy Tosh, and one grandson, Jason Petty. Mr. Tosh is survived by his wife, Marion Tosh; one daughter, Martha Petty and husband Johnny; one son, Wayne Tosh and wife JoAnn, seven grandchildren, and thirteen great- grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at the Salem United Methodist Church. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Leon John Tosh.
