Margaret Jewell

January 13, 1936 - March 29, 2019 Mrs. Margaret Louise (Boyd) Jewell, age 83, of Dyer, Tennessee passed away Friday, March 29, 2019 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Monday, April 1, 2019 at Karnes & Son Funeral Home-Dyer chapel. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Dyer, TN with Bro. Scott Jewell and Bro. John Coleman officiating. Margaret was born January 13, 1936 to the late James Henry and Cozette Ashe Boyd in Union City, TN. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1954. After, she attended West TN Business School. On October 5, 1958 she married the love of her life, Charles Austin Jewell at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kenton, TN. They were happily married for 56 years. Mrs. Jewell was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Dyer, TN, where Austin served as deacon for many years. They were members of the senior citizens committee at the church. For 25 years she loved wavering beside Austin in their business "Jewell Steel Works" in Rutherford, TN. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and later on in her life, her great grand-children. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Austin Jewell; parents; brothers, Jim Allen Boyd, Henry Wayne Boyd, and Earl Ray Boyd; aunt and best friend, Wanda Ashe McDaniel; and sister-in-law, Linda Boyd. Margaret is survived by her children, Lorrie (Keith) Lovelace, Scott (Wendy) Jewell; grandchildren, Adam (Amber) Crowe, Jacob (Beth) Crowe, Hope (Taylor) Dedmond, Sarah-Ashley (Colin) Medling, Grace Jewell; great grandchildren, Joe Austin Crowe, Corbin Medling, Annaleigh Crowe; step grandchild, Beth Lovelace; brothers, Tommy (Sandi) Boyd, Perry (Cathy) Boyd, Ricky (Margaret) Boyd; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 31, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, and Monday 10:00 am until time of service. Pallbearers include Ricky Boyd, Adam Crowe, Jacob Crowe, Colin Medling, Taylor Dedmond, Grant Jones, Jerry Jewell, and Mike Jewell. Honorary pallbearers include Tommy Boyd, Perry Boyd, Eston Hurst, Melvin Pipkin, Clarence Davidson, and Glen Reynolds.
