Martha Nell Denton

Mrs. Martha Nell Denton, age 91 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, October 23, 2020, at Dyer Nursing Home. Graveside services for Mrs. Denton will be conducted on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at 3:00 pm at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Bro. John Coleman officiating.

She was born June 3, 1929 in Trenton, TN; the daughter of the late Virgil & Bessie Davidson Hayes.  She was retired after working at Kellwood in Rutherford, and Brown Shoe in Dyer.  She was a member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by two children, Barry Denton (Kathy), Terry Denton (Carole); sister, Betty Lockard; three grandchildren, Matthew Denton, Holly Campbell, Shawn Denton; five great grandchildren, Carley Denton, Elly Denton, Tyler Campbell, Owen Denton, and Ocoee Denton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Denton; and siblings, Virgil Hayes Jr., Raymond Hayes, Harry Hayes, and Bobby Hayes.

Honorary pallbearers are Melvin Pipkin, Joel Reynolds, Eston Hurst, Gayle Reynolds, Glen Reynolds, Mike Garner, Ronnie Hollandsworth, Joe Tidwell, Ken Doss, Thomas O’Daniel, and Frank West.  Mask and social distancing are mandatory at the graveside.
