Martha Ann Griggs

Mrs. Martha Ann Griggs, age 94 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Dyer Nursing Home. Funeral services for Mrs. Griggs will be conducted on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 2PM in the chapel of TriCity Church of Christ with Alfred Earls and Benny McVay officiating. Burial will follow in Bells Chapel Cemetery.

Martha was born February 26, 1932, in Trenton, TN; the daughter of the late Newt & Maggie Johnston Blackwell. She worked at Dyersburg Methodist Hospital as a nurse before her retirement and attended TriCity Church of Christ.

Mrs. Griggs leaves behind three children, Tina Pleasant (John), Barry Griggs (Sumeeta), Randy Griggs; sister, Sue Paschall; three brothers, Sam Blackwell, Mark Blackwell, David Blackwell; and two grandchildren, Prianca Griggs, and Josh Griggs. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert L. ‘Buddy’ Griggs; and siblings, Aaron Blackwell, Mary Nell Gonzalez, Rebecca Blackwell and Kathryn Kyle.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Friday, August 7, 2026, from 12PM until service time, in the chapel of TriCity Church of Christ. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Martha Ann Griggs.
