Martha Knott

Martha Lynn Richardson Knott, 92, of Dyer, TN, passed away September 16, 2017, after a short illness. She retired as an Employment Interviewer from the State of Tennessee Employment Services after 43 years, and was a lifelong member of Dyer First United Methodist Church, where she was also active in the Choir. Martha Lynn was the widow of Charles Knott and is survived by their sons, Steve Knott (Christy) of Memphis, TN, Jeff Knott of Dallas, TX, and grandchildren Ryan, Connor, and Garrett Knott. She is also survived by sisters Sue Jenkins (Lloyd, deceased) of Trimble, TN, Anne Coble (Luther) of Trenton, TN, and brother George Richardson (Janie) of Huntsville, AL. Martha Lynn was preceded in death by her infant son Charles Gregory Knott, her parents Lannie and Vetra Richardson of Dyer, TN, as well as her brother Charles Richardson (Dannie) of Round Rock, TX. The family extends their heartfelt appreciation for the loving care provided by Dyer Nursing Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the charity of the donor’s choice. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00am, in the Dyer chapel, with Bro. Randy Mutter officiating, and interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
