Nelda Sue Petty

Mrs. Nelda Sue Petty, age 90 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed peacefully on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, following a short illness. Funeral services for Mrs. Petty will be conducted on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 3PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Lynn Tharp officiating. Interment will follow in Bells Chapel Cemetery. 

She was born April 26, 1934, in the Yorkville community; the daughter of the late Clay & Ethel (Haley) Saine. She worked as a sewist at Kellwood before her retirement and was a member of the Bells Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church. 

Mrs. Petty leaves behind three children, Glen (Debra) Petty, Nelda (Tim) Canada, David (Kathy) Petty; nine grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Bobbie Ruth Carrigan; husband, Roy Petty; daughter, Judy Berry; and infant son, Charles Petty. 

The family will receive friends from 5PM – 8PM on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Nelda Sue Petty.
