Oscar Garza

Mr. Oscar Garza, age 77 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at his home with his family around him. Funeral services for Mr. Garza will be conducted on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Dyer with Father Jacek Kowall officiating. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery, Yorkville, Tennessee. He was born July 17, 1938 in Chicago Illinois; the son of the late Joseph Montez and his mother Magdalena Garza. He was retired Warehouse Manager for Heilig – Myers Furniture Company. He was a loving father and friend to all. Mr. Garza was Catholic. He is survived by two daughters, Magdalena Jaramillo, and Charmaine (Dean) Hill, step-daughters, Kristina (Cliff) Oie, and Lisa Toporek, Kimberly (Robert) Turner; twelve grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, two sisters, Alma (Leo) Gonzalez and Elisa Montez Tovar; two brothers, Emilio Montez, and Michael Sanchez; and a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joyce and Ron Scimo. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Montez. The family will receive friends Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 5 -8 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Dyer.
