Oscar Yoder

Oscar W. Yoder, Age 56 years, 7 months 14 days of Rutherford, TN went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on March 7, 2017, after a 5 ½ year battle with cancer. He was born on July 21, 1960, to Leroy W. and Frieda (Schlabach) Yoder. On May 22, 1981, he married Mary E. Yoder, his wife of 35 years, who survives. They were blessed with 4 sons and 2 daughters. Dorcas, Javan and wife Wanita, Marcus, Rosetta, Joshua and wife Rosi, and Philip. Also, three grandsons and one granddaughter, all of Rutherford, TN. He is also survived by five brothers; Myron, Kenneth, Brian, Larry, and Titus; and five sisters, Louise, Viola, Cindy, Waneda, and Rhonda; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Frieda (Schlabach) Yoder; sister, Malinda Yoder; a nephew and two brothers in law. He was a faithful member of the Berea Mennonite Fellowship Church, in Rutherford, TN. He had a great love for the church and the home. His burden was that we continue faithful to the end. The family wishes to thank everyone for the prayers and support we have received in these past years and during this time. Also, for the food and many thoughtful deeds. We covet your prayers as we continue without our husband and father, that we may all meet on Yonder shore. Public visitation will be Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 6:00-8:00pm at Berea Mennonite Fellowship Church, and again on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm at Berea Mennonite Fellowship Church. Funeral service will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 10:00am in the Berea Mennonite Fellowship Church.
