Patricia Ann Lane, known as Patti to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Bradenton, FL, at the age of 78. Born on September 18, 1947, in Chicago, IL, Patti’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith and love for her family and community.

Patti was the heart and joy of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love and wonderful memories. She is survived by her daughters, Darlene LaBuda and Denise Cote’ LaShell; son-in-law, Burke LaShell; her grandchildren, Jennifer Smith, Lauren Cote’, and Nicholas Cote’; her great granddaughter, Sadie Smith, beloved cousins, and many wonderful friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Anna Puckett, father, Walter Puckett, and son-in-law Rick Cote’, with whom she is now reunited in Heaven.

A proud graduate of Proviso East High School, Patti had a lifelong passion for learning. She attended beauty school in her youth, and later, her love for education led her to take part time classes at Manatee Community College and real estate school. Her professional life was marked by dedication and care; she spent many years as an office manager before becoming a nursing department scheduler and Human Resources specialist at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, from where she retired.

Patti began competitive skating at a very young age, and her passion and commitment led her to become a National champion roller skater. The skating rink was where she not only showcased her talent, but also created lasting friendships that endured throughout her life. She cherished those friendships and enjoyed sharing those memories with her loved ones.

Patti’s faith was strong and steadfast. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly. She enjoyed attending church and reading her daily devotionals and scriptures. She loved listening to Christian music and attended many Christian music concerts.

Family was Patti’s greatest joy. She loved her children and grandchildren dearly and cherished every moment she spent with them. She was a very special Granny with a joy that was contagious. A typical day for her would include visiting with loved ones, making a stop for her favorite McDonald’s frappe, talking on the phone with her family or friends, and enjoying a Hallmark movie or a children’s show that she loved to watch with the kids. Her goodness and kindness were evident in every interaction.

Patti Lane will be remembered as a sweet, beautiful, caring, kind and faithful woman who lived her life with grace and love. Her memory will continue to inspire us to be grateful for life’s blessings and to love without reservation. She is the definition of love.
