Mr. Richard Dwayne Reed, age 86 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Medina Health & Rehab. Funeral services for Mr. Reed will be conducted on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at 11AM in the Dyer chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Reverend Dr. Joey Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Richard was born May 9, 1940, in Mason Hall, TN; the son of the late Madison and Florence Cummings Reed. He retired from the Milan Army Ammunition Plant and was a member of Dyer Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Richard was a Mason and former Cub Master and Scout Master. He served his country with the US Army.

Richard is survived by his loving wife, Mae Beth Reed; two children, Anndrea Dyer (Eric), Timmy Reed (CaRae); sister, Janice Williams (Paul); six grandchildren, Madison Dyer, Harrison Dyer, Reed Dyer, Jon Daniel Boudreau (Kendall), Kassidy Reed, Bentlee Reed; and great-grandchild, Clark Boudreau. He was preceded in death by daughter, Darla Beth Reed; daughter-in-law, Donna Reed; and sister, Greta Tilghman.

Serving as pallbearers are Harrison Dyer, Reed Dyer, Jon Daniel Boudreau, Braxton Williams, Mason Needham, and Stacey Needham.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials in Richard’s name be made to Dyer CP Church Building Fund.

Visitation will be held from 9AM until service time, Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Dyer chapel. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Richard Dwayne Reed.
