Roy Edward James

Roy Edward James, age 88 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at home.  Graveside services for Mr. James will be conducted on Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11:00 am at New Concord Baptist Cemetery with Bro. Carl Kizer officiating. Due to the health and safety for the family, and general public, we are implementing the guidelines and Executive Orders of the President and Governor. We thank you for your understanding.

He was born May 9, 1932 in Elbridge, TN; the son of the late John & Lou Anna James. He retired from Northwest Correctional Complex as a Correctional Officer with 10 years. He served his country with the US Air Force.  Military honors will be observed.

He is survived by six children, Michael James, Philip James, Debbie Poteete (Alex), Stephen James (Stacy), Greg James (Jill), Terry Mark Floyd; brother, Bobby James; five grandchildren, Thomas, Kelli, Grant, Travis, and Alyssa James. He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Grace James; siblings, JR & JB James, Betty Kizer, and Jack James.

Honorary pallbearers are Dennis Kizer, Thomas James, Travis James, Greg Ervin, Grant James, Tim James, and Kevin James.
