Mrs. Sallie Kate Pate, age 96 of Rutherford, Tennessee, passed from this life on Sunday, December 18, 2016, at Greenbrier Meadows Assisted Living in Martin. Funeral services for Mrs. Pate will be conducted on Wednesday, December 21, at 2:00p.m. in the Rutherford Chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Marlon Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery in Rutherford. She was born May 7, 1920, in Gibson County, the daughter of the late Irby and Lena Edmonds Belew. Survivors include her daughter, Lena Mai Pate Garner; three grandchildren, Angela Garner, Amy Garner, Allison Garner Clay; and one great grandchild, Adalena Kathryn Clay. She was preceded in death by her husband, Y Z Pate. The family will receive friends from 11:00am-2:00pm on Wednesday, December 21, at the Rutherford Chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home.
