Sandra Kay Ritter

Mrs. Kay Ritter, age 79 of Newbern, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – Union City. Cremation arrangements for Mrs. Ritter are under the direction of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. 

She was born April 18, 1944, in Trenton, TN; the daughter of the late Gilbert & Doris (Austin) Young. She was a homemaker; loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kay loved watching birds and tending to her flowers and plants. 

She is survived by five children, Angie Ritter Green (Mark), James Ritter, Keith Ritter (Beth), Mike Ritter (Lisa), Chris Ritter (Lisa); siblings, Larry Young (Susan), Rose Saxsma (Lloyd), Phyllis Allmon (Danny); nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Ritter Jr. 

The family will hold a visitation, for friends and family, at Yorkville Community Center, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 12PM-3PM.

A graveside service, for immediate family only, will be held, Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 10AM, in Bells Chapel Cemetery.
