Shirley Louise Cooper

Mrs. Shirley Louise Cooper, age 92 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home. Graveside services for Mrs. Cooper will be conducted on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at 11AM in Oakwood Cemetery with Bro. John Coleman and Charlie Halliburton officiating. Interment will immediately follow afterwards.

Mrs. Shirley was born February 11, 1933, in the Mt. Pelia Community; the daughter of the late David Henry & Fannie Bell Mallard Halliburton. She worked at Kellwood before their closing and attended New Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was passionate about walking and her physical health. She enjoyed nature, and felt at peace when doing so, and also was a seamstress for many years. Mrs. Shirley loved to have fun, besides being a wonderful cook, and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Mrs. Cooper is survived by three children, Sissy Davis (Nathan), Jeff Cooper (Belinda), Alice Teeters (Richard); sister, Peggy Dawson; brother, Harold Halliburton; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 8 and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Douglas Cooper; daughter, Sherry Lynn Elliott; two sons, Douglas Ray Cooper, Allen Michael Cooper; granddaughter, Stacy Lynn Petty; grandson, Christopher Elliott; and siblings, Elizabeth ‘Shug’ Atchley, Doris Whitworth, Robert Halliburton, Clay Halliburton, Margaret ‘Nig’ Taylor, David Halliburton, and Charles Halliburton.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her caregivers. Pallbearers will be Britt Dunn, Clayton Dunn, Nathan Davis, Brian Cooper, Michael Cooper, and Glenn Cooper.
