Shirley Irene King

Mrs. Shirley Irene King, age 88 of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Dyer Nursing Home & Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. King will be conducted on Monday, May 6, 2024, at 1PM in the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with her grandson, Jarid Warren speaking. Interment will follow in Rutherford Cemetery. 

Shirley was born January 4, 1936, in Gibson County; the daughter of the late Neldo & Loney (French) Glisson. She retired, after 46 years, from the Brown Shoe Company working as a fitting room flex folder; then enjoying being a homemaker, and member of Keely Mill Baptist Church. 

Mrs. King leaves behind four children, Kathy Hooper (Rusty), Janice Rodgers, Delissa Workman (Brad), Harold King (Patsy); three grandchildren, Jarid Warren (Gwen), Dokota Warren, Alisa Tatum; and three great-grandchildren, Cayden Cates, Aleaha Tatum, and Isaiah Tatum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Harold King (2008); and granddaughter, Brittney VanDerRoest. 

The family will receive friends from 11AM-1PM on Monday, May 6, 2024, at the Rutherford chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Shirley Irene King.
