November 8, 1950 – February 17, 2021

James Steven Meeks, age 70 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Funeral services for Mr. Meeks will be conducted on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Kenton Church of God with Bro. Dennis Cleek officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.

He was born November 8, 1950 in Hardin County, TN; the son of the late James & Daisy Campbell Meeks. He retired as police chief of the City of Kenton and was a member of Kenton Church of God.

He is survived by three children, Lee Meeks, Kim Baker (Johnny Mac), Lorie Meeks; siblings, Margaret Tubbs, Martha Ring, Betty Bailey; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Meeks; brothers, Don & Butch Meeks; and his parents.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Kenton Church of God. Mask and social distancing are required as mandated by the CDC recommendations.  Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. James Steven Meeks.
