Terry Barton

Mr. Terry Joe Barton, age 84 of Union City, Tennessee, formerly of Rutherford, passed away from this life on December 29, 2017, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. Memorial services for Mr. Barton will be conducted on Monday, January 1, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home in Rutherford with Stephen Sutter officiating. Mr. Barton was born August 31, 1933 in Mason Hall, Tn.; the son of the late Albert and Laverne Smith Barton. He was a Pattern designer for Kellwood Company with 38 years of service. He was a member of Bishop Street Church of Christ. Mr. Barton served his country with the US Army. He is survived by his wife, Bettye Barton; daughter-in-law, Ruth Barton; two grandchildren, Candy Recine, and Shelly Taylor; eleven great-grandchildren; two nieces, Jana Ray, and Darlene Horton, and sister-in-law, Emily Woods. He was preceded in death by his son, Ron Barton; his parents, Albert and Laverne Barton and step-mother, Mamie Barton. The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018 in the chapel of Karnes and Son Funeral Home in Rutherford.
