Tom Bradford

Thomas Allen Bradford “Tom,” age 84 of Kenton, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Friday, December 10, 2021, at his home in Kenton.  Funeral services for Mr. Bradford will be conducted on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Burkacki and Bro. Billy Criswell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mr. Bradford was born on February 8, 1937, in Mason Hall.  He was a faithful man that loved God, his family, and his country.  He was an active member of Gibson County and spent his life servicing the people in many ways.  Tom was a teacher at Kenton School for many years.  He was also the police commissioner of the Kenton Police Department and constable of Gibson County.  He was a member of the Mason Lodge and enjoyed living and working in his community, and owned a greenhouse in Rutherford for some time.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Marilyn Bradford of Muskogee, OK; his daughter, Angela Sanford (Frankie) of Kenton, TN; daughter by heart, Gail Perryman Qualls; he was “Gran Gran” to his grandchild, Dustin Sanford (Niki Upton) of Spring Hill, TN; and Megan Sanford of Kenton, TN; great grandchildren, Maci Sanford, Andrew Upton, and Knox Sanford; stepchildren, Elmo Robison (Jo-Ellyn Robison) of Williamsburg, VA, Beth Essary (Alan Essary) of Muskogee, OK; and Greg Robison (Michelle Robison of Memphis, TN; and eight step-grandchildren.

He will proceed in death with his parents, CM “Red” and Alena Bradford.

Honoring Mr. Bradford as pallbearers will be Dustin Sanford, Chris Sims, Patrick Spencer, Joel Hughey, William Sims, and Scott Guy.  Honorary pallbearers will be Frankie Sanford, Ray Swift, and Judge Webb.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at the Kenton chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Thomas Allen “Tom” Bradford.
